| After spending the first 38 years of her life as a very active Jehovah´s Witness, Jan left the religious organization in the fall of 1999. After much soul searching due to the chaos created in her life, Jan entered the Center for Spiritual Living with great trepidation and fear. She didn´t know if she was prepared to “do God” again.
But by September, 2002 she was enrolled in the Religious Science ministerial training program. She was approved to do their five-year program in two years and in the spring of 2004 aced the written exam. However, there was a strong intuition that she needed to become a non-denominational minister that Jan followed. Jan’s years as a missionary fueled her desire to return to a life of service and so in June, 2004, she left for South Africa where she spent eight weeks working in a small village at a primary children´s school and researching women and children’s projects in Capetown. She came back in the fall resolved to create the financial resources to do more than a token volunteer project. Over the past five years, Jan has combined ministry with her entrepreneurial passions and a strong philanthropic sideline. Her spiritual grounding is the foundation for everything that Jan does, from her own personal development regime to her long term dreams, from her beliefs about life and relationships to her commitment to create financial success for every person on this planet. Seen by many as a “Maverick Minister”, Jan now understands that religion and spirituality are two very different concepts. Today, she is focused on a practical spirituality that works in the real world. Straight-forward, honest and insightful combined with the ability to communicate through her books, newsletters and blog, along with a powerful speaking presence has enabled Jan to help people to see their relationship with God very differently. “Go boldly to the throne” is one of Jan´s favorite lines as she inspires others develop a very maverick approach to spirituality. |
