| I still remember the painful sadness when I didn´t have the $65 for the bus so I could visit my sister at Christmas. I was down to my last $100, I had bills looming and my small cabin was freezing cold. I knew that things had to change but I was beyond desperation. The rats were running up and down the walls, across my kitchen counters, and I had no water because the pipes had frozen. I was very alone, cold and scared.
Today as I get to live around the world in places like Mazatlan and Puerto Vallarta Mexico, currently Sedona, Arizona and this winter in Guatemala, basking in beautiful sunshine daily, living in exquisite homes, playing on some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, that cold winter of 2004 seems a lifetime ago.
As I share my journey with an amazing life partner who joins me all over the world for fun and play, and have friends who support and love me unconditionally, I feel compelled to share the system that took me from that rat-infested cabin to my life as the sunshine gypsy with others who want so much more in their own lives.
You see, while I was struggling just to pay the phone bill, almost bankrupt with a floundering business, my self-esteem plummeted. There is something awfully humiliating about having your credit cards constantly declined and then finally taken away from you. To top it off, my family and friends had vanished, as I was so miserable and self-absorbed in my mess, nobody wanted to be around me. And I honestly can´t blame them!
